We went to Fernbank Museum  in Atlanta yesterday. It was me, William, Mama and my neice, C. William and I lost Mama and C in one of the exhibits. It's easier for us to look at things when they aren't with us. We saw a lot of interesting things. I thought it was funny to see the so-called "walking fishes", but I have to admit they said that evolution was a "theory". We did go into a video that talked about the Big Bang Theory but William said he didn't wan to see it. My mom also doesn't agree with the young earth theory that I adhere to. She was looking at arrowheads and said that she had some - she found them on her property - and the scientists at Fernbank said they were millions of years old. I believe the earth is only 6,000 - 10,000 years old, based on a biblical timeline from creation.

We also went to the Science Center - the link is the same - and walked through the Fernbank Forest. That was nice but it was awfully hot and we only had 30 minutes before closing. At the end we took pictures of the butterfly and water gardens. I got some information on how to make a butterfly garden.

We saw the movie "Ghosts of the Abyss" in the IMAX theater. It was about the 2001 voyage to the Titanic wreckage. James Cameron - the same director that directed the movie - produced and directed this documentary and was also in the documentary. Bill Paxton - whom I will always know as "Chet" inWeird Science - was the main narrator and was also a part of the voyage. This was a very good documentary, especially since they used small robots to actually go into some of the staterooms and dining room of the titanic. William was sad during the movie. He said it was very sad to think about all the people that died on the ship.

We visited the Robert Stanton Rose Gardens next to Fernbank as well. I looked for a link but they don't have one
: (   But I'll have some pictures on our new website soon. I plan to work on the site some more this weekend. The gardens grow test roses of all types and sizes. They were all very pretty and the gardens smelled wonderful.

We had dinner in Fayetteville at CiCi's Pizza. We had a good time except for C begging to play games. We ran into rain on the way home. We stopped and propped up my mom's window. The windows in her car keep falling down and she has to have them fixed often.

It is very hot as the air is out in the store. It went out on Friday just before closing and we are suffering with about 5 fans here. It looks like rain though, so that should cool off a little bit.

School starts on Monday, as well as dh's new work schedule. I still have a few more things to purchase then I'm set.

until 4th grade begins for William. We're going to kick off the year with a visit to Fernbank in Atlanta. He's wanted to go all summer but I HATE driving in Atlanta. I much prefer our little small town. We'll go with my mom, though, and she's a pro at city driving, even though she doesn't like it either.
 
We have books bought - some are on back order - and plans made. Dh is going to take over science lessons so that will be fun : )  I can't attend school this fall due to money issues but I'm saving for Spring. We shoud be done with 4th grade by June based on plans I've made. Of course that means no one can get sick at all next year ...
 
I'm updating my personal website as well. It will look so much better when I'm done with it. I'll update the link as soon as it's ready.
 
I'm planning to be more detailed for 4th grade than for 3rd so I'm going to take lots of pictures, make lots of notes and actually get records done on time for once!
 
I'm going to start doing some assembly work at home and making wire jewelry - for myself, not one of these scams, and I hope to be able to quit my job after I return from England next year. That's the plan - if nothing major happens. Scott is discussing moving again, possibly to Florida to be closer to his family. Depending on how our elections go we may move. He works for the Sheriff's department and if a new Sheriff is elected he could lose his job. He's been there over 5 years and gone through one new Sheriff already. He's good at his job, though, and I'm proud of him.
 
My birthday was July 16. I'm 33 years old. I don't care who knows my age. My mom and I look so much alike and no one would know she was at least 50. We both have these young faces. I was so tired of people asking me when I was graduating high school and I would be 25 or so. I don't get that anymore but a lot of people think I'm younger than 30. That's kind of nice, but I really don't mind the age thing.
